1. Based on different raw materials, it can be divided into warp-knitted cotton fabrics, warp-knitted polyester-cotton fabrics, warp-knitted medium-long imitation wool twill, all-wool twill, wool-polyester twill, wool-polyester-viscose three-in-one twill, bamboo fiber fabrics, knotted yarn fabrics, various blended warp-knitted fabrics, and many warp-knitted fabrics made of silk and hemp as raw materials.
2. According to different weaving methods, it can be divided into plain warp-knitted fabrics, warp-knitted poplin, warp-knitted twill, Oxford cloth, youth cloth, denim, as well as khaki, twill, herringbone, gabardine, satin, small jacquard, and large jacquard fabrics, etc.
3. According to the different characteristics of pre- and post-processes, it can also be divided into: colored warp and white weft fabrics (Oxford cloth, youth cloth, denim, labor cloth, etc.), colored warp and colored weft fabrics (striped fabrics, checkered fabrics, bed sheet fabrics, twill, etc.), and various colored warp-knitted plush fabrics formed by post-processes such as raising, flocking, shearing, and milling.
4. According to different manufacturing principles, it can also be divided into knitted warp-knitted fabrics and woven warp-knitted fabrics. The above are all woven warp-knitted fabrics. The basic principle of knitted warp-knitted fabrics is also to dye the yarn before weaving. Both warp knitting machines and weft knitting machines can weave warp-knitted fabrics, but they are mostly in stripes and cannot produce checkered patterns.
Cotton Fabric
Cotton fabric is a general term for all kinds of cotton textiles. It is often used to make fashion, casual wear, underwear, and shirts. Its advantages are lightweight and warm, soft and skin-friendly, excellent moisture absorption and breathability, and hypoallergenic. Its disadvantages are that it is prone to shrinkage and wrinkles, has poor recovery, and poor luster, requiring frequent ironing during wear.
Cotton Fabric Classification:
① Pure cotton: As the name implies, it is entirely made of cotton, with the characteristics of warmth, moisture absorption, heat resistance, alkali resistance, and hygiene. Its disadvantages are that it is prone to shrinkage and wrinkles, pilling, and the appearance is not very neat and beautiful, requiring frequent ironing during wear.
② Fine combed cotton: The correct term is "fine-spun cotton". Simply put, it is better woven and processed, and it is pure cotton. This type of fabric can maximally prevent pilling.
③ Polyester-cotton blend: It is a blended fabric, compared to pure cotton. It is a blend of polyester and cotton. Compared with "fine-spun cotton", it is more prone to pilling. However, because it contains polyester, the fabric is relatively softer than pure cotton, less prone to wrinkles, but the moisture absorption is worse than pure cotton.
④ Washed cotton: Washed cotton is made from cotton fabric. After special processing, the color and luster of the fabric surface are softer, the feel is softer, and a slightly wrinkled appearance gives it an old-fashioned feel. This type of clothing is easy to wear and wash, with the advantages of non-deformation, non-fading, and wrinkle-free. Better washed cotton fabrics have a uniform layer of fluff on the surface, with a unique style.
⑤ Ice cotton: Ice cotton features thinness, breathability, and coolness to combat summer heat. Simply put, it is a coating added to cotton fabric. The colors are mostly in a single tone, such as white, army green, light pink, light brown, etc. Ice cotton has the characteristics of breathability and coolness, smooth and soft hand feel, a cool feeling, natural wrinkles on the surface, and it is thin but not transparent when worn. Suitable for ladies to make dresses, three-quarter pants, shirts, etc., it has a unique style and is a superior material for summer clothing. Pure ice cotton will not shrink!
⑥ Lycra cotton: Lycra is added to the cotton fabric. Lycra (LYCRA) is a man-made elastic fiber invented and produced exclusively by DuPont. It can be freely stretched 4 to 7 times and quickly returns to its original length when the external force is released. It cannot be used alone and can be interwoven with any other man-made or natural fibers. It does not change the appearance of the fabric, is an invisible fiber, and can greatly improve the performance of the fabric. Its extraordinary stretching and recovery performance greatly enhances all fabrics. Lycra-containing garments are not only comfortable and well-fitting, allowing for free movement, but also have super wrinkle recovery ability, making the garments durable and non-deformable.
⑦ Mesh cotton: Mesh cotton is also pure cotton, but the weaving method is different from ordinary ones. It is more sweat-absorbent and less prone to deformation.
⑧ Mercerized cotton: Mercerized cotton uses higher-grade cotton raw materials and undergoes a series of strict processing procedures, retaining the natural advantages of pure cotton, such as softness, comfort, moisture absorption, and breathability, and also has many unique advantages: 1. Increased yarn strength, not easily broken; 2. Increased gloss, with silk-like brightness; 3. Improved dyeing performance, bright color, not easily faded; 4. The depth of yarn breakage decreases with increasing tension, i.e., it is not easily stretched and deformed.
Linen
Linen is a fabric made from various hemp plants such as hemp, flax, ramie, jute, sisal, and banana fiber. It is generally used to make casual wear and work clothes, and is often used to make ordinary summer clothes. Its advantages are extremely high strength, moisture absorption, heat conduction, and excellent breathability. Its disadvantages are that it is not very comfortable to wear, and the appearance is relatively rough and stiff.
